  • Why does my tumbler turner have imperfections in the Lexan?
We purchase Lexan in sheets, which arrive covered in protective layers of plastic. Often times the Lexan has scratches in that we cannot see until we get it to our shop and pull that protective layer off. Sometimes the scratches are minimal and other times there may be larger. Due to the cost of 1/4" Lexan, we are unable to throw away sections of the sheets which are scratched. To try to be as cost effective as possible, the decision was made to maintain the to use of imperfect Lexan pieces, as the scratches do not affect the functional integrity of the product.
  • The motor on my tumbler turner is "clicking", "sticking" or "skipping". What can I do?"
This is generally one of a few things. First, make sure that your turner arm is not over tightened into the threaded female end. You want the arm to be screwed in securely, but not so tight that it’s difficult to unscrew. Next, ensure your turner is perfectly level. Problems with the motors not turning smoothly can often stem from a unit that is not level. Visually inspect your turner arms. If spray paint or epoxy gets on the arm where is rotates on the turner, this can cause an uneven spin and a thumping, squeaking or whaling noise. If your arm does have any type of residue, thoroughly clean your turner arms of any paint, epoxy or glitter and lightly sand the notch on the turner where the arm rotates until it feels smooth. In humid conditions wood can swell. Similar to having paint or epoxy get into the notch the arm rotates on, swelling can cause an uneven spin. Take a fine grit sandpaper and lightly sand the notch area until it feels smooth. Additionally, you may also try wrapping a piece of scotch tape around your PVC pipe where the arm rotates within the notch. If you've tried all of these methods and your turner is still not running smoothly, please reach out to us at support@kaliatylerdesignsllc.com for further troubleshooting of the problem.
  • Can I use another manufacturer's tumbler turner arms with your tumbler turner machine?
In most cases, absolutely! When purchasing your tumbler turner, you will have the option to select a 1/2" or 3/4" PVC setup. If you intend to use another manufacturer's arms, please be sure you order our turner with the same PVC setup size that your current arms are made to. Our turners come with the female PVC adapter attached to the tumbler turner. If the arms you currently own have the female PVC adapter attached, please add a note to your order and let us know you need the male end on the turner. At this time, we are unable to accommodate tumbler turner arms made on metal rotisserie rods.
  • Is my tumbler turner covered by a warranty?
At this time, we do not offer a warranty with the turners. However, if you have any problem with the functionality of your turner upon delivery, please reach out to us right away. As we do not manufacture the synchronous motors, we cannot give an estimate on how long the motors will last (this can also depend heavily on frequency of use). If you do have a motor that stops working properly within the first 90 days of delivery, please reach out to us and send a video of the motor malfunctioning. We will ship you out a new replacement motor for free. For motors more than 90 days old and all other parts, please see our " Tumbler Turner Replacement Parts" page to purchase any replacement parts you may need.
  • How do I contact you for questions about my new tumbler turner?
Please reach out to us via email at support@kaliatylerdesignsllc.com
  • How do I change out a bad motor?
We make changing out your motors super easy to do! We use quick disconnect spade adapters to wire our motors, which allows you to easily "unplug" the old motor and "plug in" the new one. It only takes a screwdriver and about five minutes to do. We have a video tutorial in our photo gallery demonstrating just how easy it is!
  • What size tumbler turners do you offer?
We build tumbler turners in a single cup, two cup, four cup, six cup, eight cup and ten cup. However, due to the size and weight of the eight and ten cup turners we do ask these be picked up locally whenever possible. If interested in these larger turners, please reach out to us to discuss your turner needs and pricing.
